It’s all about Ecommerce Solutions

An e-business organization transforms its interaction with customers, suppliers, business partners and employees using Internet-based technologies - extending its reach to improve its performance. E-business is not about re-inventing or re-engineering your business; it's about streamlining your business processes and leveraging your knowledge.

The e-business gains strategic advantage in a highly competitive, global marketplace. Using e-business solutions creates competitive advantage. The web changes everything. Now you can reduce operating costs, obtain higher revenues, increase your customer base, create new market opportunities, enhance your customer service and target your communications.

Why You Should Consider getting into e-Business?:

  • Increase revenue
  • Establish new markets
  • Reduce operating costs
  • Build customer loyalty
  • Create a convenient buying experience for your customers
  • Improve communications with customers and business partners

A business of any size can benefit from an online shopping cart. However, for your business to be successful it must attract new customers, deliver a satisfying online shopping experience, and provide you with the effective and easy tools to manage it.

E-commerce (electronic commerce or EC) is the buying and selling of goods and services on the Internet, especially the World Wide Web. In practice, this term and a newer term, e-business, are often used interchangeably. For online retail selling, the term e-tailing is sometimes used.

E-commerce can be divided into:

• E-tailing or "virtual storefronts" on Web sites with online catalogs, sometimes gathered into a "virtual mall"
• The gathering and use of demographic data through Web contacts
• Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), the business-to-business exchange of data
• E-mail and fax and their use as media for reaching prospects and established customers (for example, with newsletters)
• Business-to-business buying and selling
• The security of business transactions

E-tailing or The Virtual Storefront and the Virtual Mall

As a place for direct retail shopping, with its 24-hour availability, a global reach, the ability to interact and provide custom information and ordering, and multimedia prospects, the Web is rapidly becoming a multibillion dollar source of revenue for the world's businesses. A number of businesses already report considerable success. As early as the middle of 1997, Dell Computers reported orders of a million dollars a day. By early 1999, projected e-commerce revenues for business were in the billions of dollars and the stocks of companies deemed most adept at e-commerce were skyrocketing. Although many so-called dotcom retailers disappeared in the economic shakeout of 2000, Web retailing at sites such as,, and continues to grow

Small Business... requires a website???

“My business is very small, just me and two employees, and our product really can't be sold online. Do I really need a website?” – Michael, who runs a small contracting business, is not sure how a website can help him to expand his business.

This s a common doubt of small business men who thinks his business is not flourished, so who would care about his site. But that’s not true; every website has its own identity in the web space. May be a website brings you more business than any other marketing effort. Eventually, you can step in to online business or service transactions.

So should your business have a website, even if your business is small and sells products or services you don't think can be sold online? There is only one answer: “Yes, if you have a business, you should have a website. Period. No question. Without a doubt.”

Also, don't be so quick to dismiss your product or services as one that can't be sold online. Nowadays, there's very little that can't be sold over the internet. More than 20 million shoppers are now online, purchasing everything from books to computers to cars to real estate to jet airplanes to natural gas to you names it. If you can imagine it, someone will figure out how to sell it online.
The point to be made here is that you should at the very least have a presence on the web so that customers, potential employees, business partners and perhaps even investors can quickly and easily find out more about your business and the products or services you have to offer.
Professional-looking site if you want to be taken seriously. Since many consumers now search for information online prior to making a purchase at a brick-and-mortar store, your site may be the first chance you have at making a good impression on a potential buyer.

You also mention that yours is a small operation, but when it comes to benefiting from a website, size does not matter. Don't care if you're a one-man show or a 10,000-employee corporate giant; if you don't have a website, you're losing business to other companies that do.
Your site speaks volumes about your business. It says, "Hey, look, we take our business so seriously that we have created this wonderful site for our customers!"

Your website is an important part of your business. Make sure you treat it as such.

Benefit from your website...
There are many advantages of having a website for your business. It is hard to think of any successful business that does not have a website. You can literally make money while you sleep. Think of waking up in the morning and seeing that your website did all of the work for you during the night.

The first reason, everyone should have a website for their business is because of the time it saves you. The number 1 thing most people who own a business spend their time doing is prospecting. If you have a website you do not have to spend your time cold calling, or handing out brochures. The people that are interested in your business will find your website and it will sell the product for you. They also have the option to sign up for an online newsletter, this way if they are not interested the first time they see your business they will be exposed to it many more times. For some people it's just a matter of timing.

Another important reason for having a website is it delivers a perfect presentation of your product or business 100% of the time. It always looks and sounds the same no matter how you are feeling. Most people do not have the energy to explain their product perfectly 24 hours a day 7 days a week. But if you have a website this will all be automated for you. A website is definitely a necessity if you want to get far in your business. You want your prospects to have access to your information anytime of day.

When someone has the time to go over your website they will most likely be willing to buy your product. Nobody likes to be pressured into making decisions when it is not on their terms.

Global net censorship 'growing'

The level of state-led censorship of the net is growing around the world, a study of so-called internet filtering by the Open Net Initiative suggests. The study of thousands of websites across 120 Internet Service Providers found 25 of 41 countries surveyed showed evidence of content filtering. Websites and services such as Skype and Google Maps were blocked, it said. What's regrettable about net filtering is that almost always this is happening in the shadows.

The filtering had three primary rationales, according to the report: politics and power, security concerns and social norms.

The report said: "In a growing number of states around the world, internet filtering has huge implications for how connected citizens will be to the events unfolding around them, to their own cultures, and to other cultures and shared knowledge around the world." The report said net censorship was spreading across the globe.

Mr Palfrey, executive director of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society, said : "There has also been an increase in the scale, scope and sophistication of internet filtering." A number of states in Europe and the US were not tested because the private sector rather than the government tends to carry out filtering. Countries which carry out the broadest range of filtering included Burma, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen, the study said.

Jonathan Zittrain, Professor of Internet Governance and Regulation at Oxford University, said the organization was also looking at the tools people used to circumvent filtering."It's hard to quantify how many people are doing this. As we go forward each year we want to see if some of these circumvention technologies become more like appliances and you just plug them in and they work," he added.
"Few states restrict their activities to one type of content," said Rafal Rohozinski, Research Fellow of the Cambridge Security Programme.

He added: "Once filtering is begun, it is applied to a broad range of content and can be used for expanding government control of cyberspace. It has become a strategic forum of competition between states, as well as between citizens and states."
